Medicine Uses
Diflucan is prescribed for treating:
- Esophageal candidiasis and oropharyngeal;
- Vaginal candidiasis (vaginal yeast infections because of Candida).
- Cryptococcal meningitis.
Diflucan is prescribed to lessen the concentration of candidiasis in people experiencing bone marrow transplantation, who undergo radiation therapy or/and cytotoxic chemotherapy.
Terms of Use
Diflucan is presented by liquid or tablet which are taken orally. Commonly it's used once per day. Take into consideration the recommendations of your prescription list thoroughly and consult with your physician or pharmacist if there's a non-understandable part. Use Diflucan strictly according to directions. Don't use less or more of medicine or more frequent than your doctor has prescribed.
Precautions/Warnings
Don't use Diflucan if you're using cisapride (Propulsid). Mixed with Propulsid (cisapride), Diflucan can lead to severe, even deathly, heart troubles. Before using this medicine inform your health care provider if you suffer from other medicinal conditions, particularly from kidney disease, or if you use other medical remedies. You can be forbidden to use Diflucan or may need dose regulation or specific monitoring while being treated.
Missed Dose
Consume the missed dose when you remember of it. Actually, if the time to take the next dosage is coming, miss this dose and go on with your scheduled dosing. Don't consume double dosage to piece out a missed one.
Possible Negative Effects
If you overcome any of the mentioned adverse conditions, avoid using Diflucan and call for immediate medical attention or inform your physician as soon as possible: liver damage (yellowing eyes or skin, pale stools, stomach pain, strange tiredness, or dark urine), a rash, or an allergic reaction (throat closing, lips, tongue, face swelling; difficult breath, or hives). Other, less dangerous negative effects are more often to occur. If you suffer from any of the below mentioned adverse effects, go on using Diflucan and inform your health care provider: Diarrhea, vomiting, stomach pain, nausea, dizziness, headache, tiredness, or itching. It's possible for other adverse conditions to occur. Inform your physician of any such condition, which appears to be not usual and bothering.
Storage
Keep pills below 30 C (86 F). Protect the remedy from frost. Diflucan injections can be purchased either in dextrose diluents or in sodium chloride, delivered in Viaflex Plus plastic packages. Keep between 25 C (77 F) and 5 C (41 F). Momentary exposure up to 40 C (104 F) won't negatively influence the remedy. Protect the remedy from frost.
Overdose
Call your doctor immediately if you've taken too much. Signs of Diflucan overdose are presented by hallucinations, confusion, paranoia, lessened movement, tearing eyes, seizures, decreased breath, death and urinary incontinence.
Detailed Information
Abstain from alcohol or take it at moderate levels when using Diflucan. Diflucan and alcohol can negatively effect the liver. Drive or perform dangerous actions carefully. Diflucan can lead to dizziness. If you suffer from dizziness, abstain from these actions.
