This drug is a cephalosporin antibiotic intended to manage contagions caused by bacteria. The contagions it can treat are numerous. The medication can also be used for treating serious infections. However, Ceftin is not recommended for flu and common cold or viral infection on the whole.

Stay away from the drug if you have an allergy to cefuroxime or cephalosporin antibiotics (i.e. Omnicef, Keflex, Cefzil, etc.) or other medications (like penicillin).
