Anti Depressants
Antidepressants are psychiatric medicines or other remedies (herbal or nutrient) taken to get rid of dysthimia (mild depression) or depression itself. Medicine classes called tricyclics, MAOIs and SSRIs are especially correspondent to the definition. These medicines nowadays belong to the medicines which general practitioners and psychiatrists usually prescribe, but their efficiency and side effects are greatly researched and disputed by different scientists. Here are several examples of antidepressants: St John's Wort, Lexapro, Pamelor, Effexor XR, Paxil and Zyprexa.
Commonly antidepressants act quite slowly so they are usually applied for several weeks, months or even years during the course. Antidepressants are commonly differentiated from stimulants and medicines taken only for rapid coming of euphoria. No matter what their name is, antidepressants are usually taken for curing several other diseases, as bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, chronic spasms, and eating disorders. Several examples are also called "mood brighteners" and considered to be lifestyle drugs.
